Wedding at Riverlife, Brisbane

Albany and Zach first met at the hospital where they were both working. As a barista in the coffee shop, Albany wondered if it was her coffee or her smile that kept Zach dropping by each morning. She didn’t have long to wonder, as after they were formally introduced by a matchmaking manager, Albany and Zach ventured out on their first date. Zach brought along biscuits which he had baked, which absolutely melted Albany’s heart. She excited told her mum that Zach might just be the “one”!
After many more hours spent together, Zach proposed at an evening out to watch the Nutcracker, and Albany ecstatically accepted. She walked down the aisle to music from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker.

With most of her family overseas, Albany decided on a simple wedding ceremony for her wedding to Zach. They live-streamed the ceremony to family and friends back home.
The wedding ceremony was held on a fine Summer afternoon at Kangaroo Point Cliffs Park, beside the sparkling Brisbane River. Celebrant Cheryl Landsberry organised all the legal paperwork for the marriage, and, together with the couple, created a ceremony with a little sentiment and a little laughter. The moments were captured by photographer, Romana Saeheng, who then took the couple to some secluded little spots alongside the river for couple portraits.
Following the ceremony and photos, the couple joined their guests at the Riverlife pergola for drinks, dancing, and donuts, as the sun set over the cityscape.

Micro Wedding at Newstead Park Rotunda

Sam and Mic first met around 8 years ago at the Victory Hotel. Sam was out with friends, and Mic was kicking on after the Caxton Street Seafood and Wine Festival. Both had consumed a couple of beverages.

Mic noticed Sam from across the room with her long brunette hair and sparkly eyes. He decided to start a conversation with her. Sam thought Mic was a bit cute, but his hair was too perfect for him to possibly be straight.

Soon, the conversation was flowing easily, with the two bantering like old friends. They had a boogie on the dance floor and neither wanted the evening to end.

Mic and Sam were soon spending every spare moment together, and they became a couple.

Sam and Mic chose a relaxed and intimate wedding ceremony at Newstead Park, Brisbane.
Sam showed off her toned physique in a fitted dress with a gorgeous train. Mic was dapper in an olive green jacket.
Surrounded by their closest family and friends, Mic promised to be the manager at Daddy Day Care while Sam worked out, and Sam explained that she and Mic complemented each other – he being the gift wrapper, and she the writer on cards.

The couple were guided and encouraged with their vow writing by celebrant Cheryl Landsberry.
Photographer Romana Saeheng captured some snaps which will be treasured for years to come.
Mel from Miss Weddings supplied an arbour and Americana chairs, and the fresh flowers were by Little Miss Flower Shop.
Afterwards, celebrations were held at the Breakfast Creek Hotel.

“Cheryl was just amazing. She was extremely helpful with every step leading up to our big day. She has a beautiful and calm nature which made us both feel at ease and made our day perfect and stress free. Highly recommend Cheryl to anyone on the hunt for a great celebrant.” Sam and Mic Nov 2022

It was raining on Caila and Jadam’s wedding day, but luckily, they had booked the heritage rotunda at New Farm Park for their ceremony.
The rotunda was large enough to fit all their guests, and everyone was glad to be out of the rain as they listened to the couple exchange their vows.
After the ceremony, photographer Romana Saeheng provided the couple and their attendants with clear umbrellas for a photo shoot around the flower gardens at New Farm Park and the nearby industrial backdrop of Brisbane Powerhouse.

Samantha and Bradley had the best little wedding last weekend. They travelled to Brisbane from country NSW with just their immediate family and were married in a simple ceremony by the Brisbane River at Hamilton.

Celebrant Cheryl Landsberry shared the couple’s admiration for each other.

“Samantha: Brad says that you make him feel loved and truly happy with who he is.”

“Brad: Sam says that she looks forward to you returning home from work, and you light up her whole day by walking through the door.”

Awww!

Sam wore a slinky white dress, with hair and make up by An Eye for Style Wedding Hair and Make up.

Miss Weddings styled an arbour with Autumn colours, and the matching bouquet was supplied by Little Miss Flower Shop.

After the ceremony, photographer, Romana Saeheng captured some cute snaps of the couple against the fun backdrops of Eat Street.

The couple  hired a private container at Eat Street for their reception dinner.

What a fabulous concept! Modern, stress-free, and uniquely them.

Thanks to all the team at Elope Brisbane.

Kathleen and Alexander first met in an outback Hospital. Kathleen was a newly hired nurse, and on her first day, an intern wearing a pink dress shirt instantly caught her eye. Kathleen decided that her new job might be pretty interesting.

Not long afterwards, when Alex was relocated to Brisbane, Kathleen followed him, and they set about trying every restaurant on Alex’s rather long short-list.

Too besotted with each other to wait for international borders to be opened, Alex and Kathleen were married in a simple ceremony by the Brisbane River, surrounded by colleagues and friends. Their families overseas watched on via livestreaming. Celebrant Cheryl Landsberry guided the couple through the legal requirements and listened in as the couple exchanged sweet personal vows. Alex said, “You are the story I’ve always strived to write,” and Kathleen replied with, “You have become my best friend and my safe place.”

After cup cakes created by Cakes by Simone, guests made their way to a city restaurant for drinks while Kathleen and Alex made the most of the soft light before dusk with photographer Romana Saeheng. Styling by Miss Weddings

Rhett and Chitra wanted a simple and fuss-free wedding with just immediate family and booked the Wedding Lawn at City Botanic Gardens for their ceremony. They asked the team at Elope Brisbane to take care of all the details.

Mel and Deb from Miss Weddings set up bamboo chairs and draped the bamboo arbour with a white cloth.

Chitra walked down into the ceremony on the arm of Rhett’s step-father, Greg, to Christina Perri’s song, A Thousand Years. Rhett’s mum, Joy, had a tear in her eye when she saw the look on Rhett’s face as he watched his bride arrive.

Celebrant Cheryl Landsberry created a sweet ceremony for the couple, and they signed the certificates with Rhett’s sisters as witnesses.

Photographer Romana Saeheng captured all the magical moments of the ceremony, then took the couple around the Botanic Gardens for a photo shoot amongst the floral landscapes. This photo was amongst the snapdragons in the formal flower garden.

The family then headed off in search of some cool drinks and a long and relaxing lunch.

Wedding at City Botanic Gardens, Brisbane

The City Botanic Gardens are situated between Alice Street and the Brisbane River, at the ends of Edward Street and George Street, Brisbane City. (If you’re new to Brisbane, the King streets run north-west and the Queen Streets run north-east.)

Underneath shady trees, generations of Brisbanites have enjoyed the manicured gardens for walks, picnics, and weddings.

The City Botanic Gardens has nine sites available to hire for weddings in Brisbane City. Sites can be booked through Brisbane City Council for a minimum of two hours. The current price is $177.20 per hour.

This setup, by stylist Miss Weddings, is the site known as Area 2 – the Wedding Lawn.

A Botanic Gardens landscaper tended to the area before the wedding, ensuring the paths were leaf free and the area was immaculate for the wedding.

Parking is available outside the City Botanic Gardens on Alice Street. Meters are available for 3 hour parking. An alternative is to park at the nearby QUT Gardens Point campus car park.

One of the most important points to note if you are planning a wedding in the City Botanic Gardens is to ensure your guests know which area in the gardens to find. Maybe you could include a diagram with the invitation. Just inside the main gate on Alice Street is a map which your guests can refer to – but only if they know the location where they are required to be.

Another important note is to ensure guests don’t accidentally drive to the Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mount Coot-tha. Ensure you specify that your wedding is at the City Botanic Gardens on Alice Street. Although only a 15 minute drive away, there has been many a mix-up when guests don’t realise that there are two different Botanic Gardens in Brisbane.

If you are looking for the Jacaranda trees in the City Botanic Gardens, you will find one at the Edward Street entrance, and another near Parliament House at the George Street entrance. The Jacarandas bloom in Brisbane from September to November, and always make for gorgeous wedding photos.

Contact Cheryl to organise your fuss free wedding at the Botanic Gardens.

Retro Wedding at Smoked Garage, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane

Lindsey and Cory chose one of the coolest venues in Brisbane for their wedding – Smoked Garage at Fortitude Valley.
The lower level of this venue on Wickham Street crafts custom motorcycles. Upstairs, the premises caters for live music events and functions.
The black and white tiled floor, stripped back brick walls, and exposed wooden roof trusses gave so many photo opportunitues for photographer, Mary, from Smile Darling Photos.

Cory looked handsome in a pale blue jacket which reflected his blue eyes. And Lindsey was just radiant in a figure hugging white gown which showed off her figure.

Celebrant Cheryl Landsberry invited the couple to share their vows to each other.

Lindsey gave some thought to her personal vows to Cory.
“So, these are my promises to you-
I promise, to always give you my honesty, trust and support
I promise, to always make you laugh when you’re being too serious
I promise, to fight with you and not against you
I promise to try and keep up with you, even if I need a moment to catch my breath,
I promise, to appreciate you, and never take you for granted
But most of all, I promise, that I will always make sure you feel loved,
and I promise to love you for the rest of my life.”

Cory responded with his own vows.
“I promise to be the best dad I can be.
I promise to be a husband you will always be proud of.
I promise to never keep score, even if I’m definitely winning.
I promise to walk by your side, to love, help and encourage you always.”

Recessional Song – You’ve got the Love by Florence and The Machine

Lindsey and Cory appreciated the assistance from Cheryl Landsberry Marriage celebrant

“You’ve been so helpful and thorough throughout this whole experience!

We are so grateful for everything you did for us on the day and everything leading up to it. Cory said you were so cool, calm and collected before I arrived (and after) which helped him relax!

You were so organised and professional and we just cannot thank you enough! We will certainly be recommending you to our friends for future weddings.

Everyone was commenting on how much they loved the story of us that you put together – it was exactly what we wanted!

From the bottom of our hearts,

Thank you for sharing our special day!”

Elopement at New Farm

Emily and Ben had an idea for their wedding day – they wanted something fun, adventurous, and totally unexpected. They contacted the team at Elope Brisbane to set their plans in motion. They met up with celebrant Cheryl Landsberry before the wedding to complete the required Notice of Intended Marriage and choose some ceremony wording. Next, Romana pulled the team together and made some bookings.

The night before their secret wedding, Emily and Ben stayed in a Brisbane hotel overlooking the city lights. The next morning, Ben went for a haircut, polished his shoes, dressed up in a super dapper suit, and met up with his mate, Leroy, who was chuffed to act as witness for the wedding.

Meanwhile, Emily and her mum, Cherie, were pampered at Twidale Hair and Beauty, with lashes, curls, and flawless makeup.

We all met up by the Powerhouse Museum at NewFarm, which provided a contemporary and striking backdrop for the wedding ceremony. Emily was wearing a fitted white gown, slit to the thigh, from Alamour the Label – and she looked absolutely sensational. Ben’s parents in the UK were livestreamed in to the ceremony so they could enjoy the moment too.

After the ceremony, photographer Romana snapped the couple in locations by the Brisbane River and New Farm Park, before heading off to Fortitude Valley for some cocktails and arcade games at B Lucky. The couple finished the night off with dinner at drinks at the Rooftop Bar at the brand new Hotel X overlooking the Story Bridge.

After their breathtaking Brisbane city wedding, Emily and Ben surprised all their friends with epic tales and photos at a reveal at their backyard engagement party. Such a fabulous way to be wed!

We loved being a part of the adventure!

Elopement – Brisbane City

Elopement at Kangaroo Point

“Taila had butterflies in her tummy when she first laid eyes on Trevor. Trevor though Taila was just gorgeous, and he instantly wanted to kiss her. As they chatted, Taila noticed how gentlemanly and softly spoken Trevor was. She knew straight away that he was the one for her.”

Taila and Trevor were planning a big, white wedding. Then they started thinking about what was really important to them. And decided, instead, to just get married straight away. They contacted the team from Elope Brisbane, completed the legal Notice, and asked a couple of special friends to be their witnesses.

Celebrant Cheryl Landsberry wrote the ceremony telling the couple’s story.

“You really have done such a beautiful, beautiful job. We are both in tears. Thank you so much.”

Trevor threw on a checked shirt, and Taila donned a pretty sundress. She had a denim jacket made up with her newly married name embossed on the back to keep her warm as the day cooled. They were married by the Brisbane River in an adorable and intimate ceremony. No fuss, no frills, and now they are living their happily ever after dream.

After a quick photo shoot in the afternoon sun, the newlweds headed over the river to Brisbane city for a celebratory dinner and city stay honeymoon.
